AI Datacenters are often put into places where the land is cheap for corporations to buy up the land, which disproportionately impacts low-income communities' power grids. This means that Black and Indigenous land feels the brunt of not only electricity bills going up to subsidize these datacenters' strain on the power grid, but also these communities are more likely to experience rolling and sustained black outs, especially during times of crisis. This means that residential homes go without power. For those that are disabled that require usage of at-home medically necessary machines, this can mean a death sentence.
